Airbus Gets on Board with 3D Printing ↗

Aerospace · FDM, CNC/post-production finishing, Painting · Ultem 9085 (PEEK) · Cabin spacer panels (overhead-compartment end panels)

Small batches per aircraft retrofit · Airbus (commercial aircraft retrofit)

For commercial-aircraft cabin retrofits, Airbus needed small-batch custom spacer panels with tight lead times and flight-ready quality. Materialise produced them with certified additive manufacturing (FDM in Ultem 9085) plus tailored post-production (incl. painting), replacing slow, costly custom injection molds.

Il Sentiero International Campus — 3D-printed replica of an ancient book ↗

Cultural heritage / art · FDM (Materialise Magics 25.1) · FDM thermoplastic (book-grade; exact resin not stated) · Display replica of a 500+ year-old book with braille

Single display piece · Il Sentiero International Campus / Ecor International (TEMART project)

A citation of an antique building found in an archaic, largely illegible book (>500 years old) was recreated as a 3D-printed display replica with braille, so visually impaired visitors can read it. Part of the POR-FESR-funded TEMART art-heritage project.
